So, if you want to get your volunteering accredited for your CV, UCAS statement or just because you want to help out and make a difference in your local community, get signed up with NVYA!

Stress and Discrimination Awareness Projects

 New Changes to NVYA

Northamptonshire Voluntary Youth Action is working with a number of partners to support specific groups of young people.

*     NVYA supports Service Six in Northampton, Wellingborough, East Northants, Daventry and South Northants to engage young people in volunteering and youth leadership activities.  This project aims to work with specific young people who have already been engaged in Service Six activities and whom wish to make their mark on their communities.

*     We are working with Aimhigher and The University of Northampton to deliver Venture Forward, a week long social enterprise workshop aimed at young people aged between 16 and 19.  150 young people will be involved in developing a Social Enterprise Team, taking part in Dragon’s Den style presentations to decide on a community project to develop and spending a day at a leading East Midlands University.  It is hoped that these young people will go on to implement the projects at the end of this year.

*     We have won funding awards to develop two training and development toolkits in Stress Awareness and anti-discrimination and will be supporting volunteers in Kettering and Corby to develop and pilot the toolkits in Schools and Youth Groups in the area.

If you would like to gain recognition for your volunteering, you can apply for your awards through the Vinspired website: www.vinspired.com .  We have developed a handy guide to the website and creating your profile, just follow the link below.  If you need any help or support, please contact us and we will do our best to help.
