| Training with NVYA |
| |
|
Here at NVYA we run a number
of training courses. They take place all over the county throughout
the year. We deliver some courses ourselves, as well as inviting
outside organisation such as the British Red Cross and The Lowdown
to deliver other courses.
Some of the courses NVYA deliver are: Peer Mentoring; Peer Education;
Recruitment & Selection; Leadership Skills Empowering Young
People and Peer Research. These are all run over a day, and
can be delivered wherever and whenever there is a need. . |
| |
They can all be adapted
for a particular group’s needs or wants and are supported
with handouts and documents for the participants to take away
with them. These courses are certificated by the Northamptonshire
Voluntary Youth Action on successful completion of the training
In addition to these courses we can offer volunteers the chance
to gain the ASDAN accredited Certificate in Community Volunteering,
which gains you up to 92 UCAS points! The certificate requires
you to complete a portfolio of evidence to show the kinds of
things you have been doing as a volunteer and the skills you
have learned.
This year we have several courses on offer from partner organisations.
These include: First Aid Training; Basic Sign Language and Alcohol
awareness.
If you are interested in any of these courses, or have any suggestions
for courses you would like to go on, please contact the Training
& Development Officer, Siân Ponting on 07894 622 469
or email her on sianponting@nvya.co.uk |
